Shangri-la has always led a life of luxury and glamour. Commissioned in 1964 for the Hollywood legend Robert Mitchum, the yacht was built by the famous Cantieri Mostes yard in Genoa, and delivered in 1965 to her home port of Monaco, where she rubbed shoulders with some of the largest and most expensive yachts in the world. Host to the Hollywood set, Shangri-La was known worldwide as an icon of style and glamour, admired as a classic as soon as she was built. An exceptional sea-keeper, both en-voyage and at anchor, Shangri-La is an intimate venue to host family and friends, whether cruising the azure waters of hidden bays and private islands, or simply moored as your base in the jet-set marinas of the world's most exclusive holiday destinations. Her spacious decks and classically beautiful accomodation will ensure a pleasurable experience for you and your guests from the moment of embarcation.
Since her construction, Shangri-La has been constantly updated and refitted, most recently completed in March 2006, retaining all the classical charm of her rich mahogany panelling and furnishings, and skillfully incorporating the modern amenities of air-conditioning throughout, sophisticated audio-visual and communication facilities and all the latest navigational equipment.
With a range of up to 3000 nautical miles and a speed of 12 knots, heavy displacement hull and Vosper stabilisers, Shangri-La can take you on a voyage of discovery or host a holiday of extravagant indulgence.
